Commercial Work
We equip storytellers of today and tomorrow with the tools they need to challenge narratives that too often perpetuate stereotypes and overlook structural oppression. Our toolkit draws on diverse knowledge systems and include discourse analysis and reparative storytelling tools, image, captioning and crediting checklists, and a vocabulary guide. Our flagship exhibition, Climate Calling, is a good practice example of our work.
If you want to make progress towards reparative, ethical and authentic storytelling get in touch via email: natalie@wood-water.org or book a discovery call. Our rate card is available upon request.
Services: Learning (and unlearning)
During our training participants learn about the role narratives play in society, and the importance of including racial justice concerns in environmental and humanitarian storytelling. We support people to understand how to question existing knowledge about storytelling. We do this through:
Bespoke workshop based learning — in-person tailored for our clients’ needs
Discourse analysis research - bespoke audits delivered using in house tools
Image and writing tools — tools and training on how to retell stories.
Services: Tools and Resouces
Learning circles — facilitated groups for self-reflection - available soon by subscription
Some of the brilliant organisations we have worked with include Feedback Global, Results UK, and Salmon Youth Centre.
As a social enterprise, we reinvest our profits into community initiatives that give the storytellers of tomorrow the skills and resources to create digital content that drives narrative change.
